Tournament Post Season Details

2024-25 Season:

Novice Tournament is great experience for new athletes to the sport of wrestling. This year the USAW-MWA will continue its second year of a true novice tournament to our event list. This event will offer athletes several matches in a short period of time to get the experience competing and enjoying putting what they have learned in practices put in to action on the mat. We want this to be a positive experience for all novice athletes.

The 6U, 8U, 10U State Tournament is a great experience for young athletes to get a taste for competing and placing in a state level event. Wrestling typically occurs on 1/2 mats and the kids wrestle in either 4-5 man RR or in 8 man brackets.

The 12U, 15U post season consists of:

Three sectional tournament which will be regionally located. Place winners will be progressed on to the State tournament. The State tournament which will be a double elimination bracketed tournament to determine the Champion at each weight. Athletes that do not place will be moved on to the Big East tournament to give them a chance to compete against other competitors that are not in the state tournament.

The K-12 Early New England Girls Tournament is a stand alone event which allows female athletes to compete against each other. The event will occur on its own this year in order to give the girls a chance to compete on their own to celebrate girls wrestling in our region.
